The Generate from a file card reads a drawing for you: a PDF print (it pulls the dimension text out — a scanned-image PDF has no text to read), a STEP file, or a DXF drawing. 2D DRAW can also send a drawing straight here. No file? Skip it — the operations below only need your numbers.
Job name, program number, tool, spindle RPM, feed and plunge rates, safe Z and units head every program. Each program opens with the standard header, the tool call and the spindle start, and closes with M5, CYCLE COMPLETE and M30.
Face, Rect pocket, Circle pocket, Bolt circle, Drill grid and Profile. Each card says where its origin sits — a part corner or the pocket center. Stepover is how far each pass moves over, as a % of the tool; stepdown is how deep each Z level cuts; the last level always lands exactly on your total depth.
Face, both pockets, Bolt circle and Profile can run Clockwise ↻ or Counter-clockwise ↺. Pockets swap their arc direction or reverse their path, the bolt circle drills its holes in the other order, Face flips its sweep, and Profile turns every outline around to run your way.
Profile trims the outlines of the drawing loaded above. Cut order picks how the shapes are sequenced — grouped by kind, by rows, perimeter first, or as drawn. It carries its own tool number and diameter. Every figure is cut in one continuous run per level — no lifting between segments — and open lines trace back the other way on the next level instead of retracting.
Bolt circle and Drill grid share the Drilling settings under the operations: the cycle (81–84), depth, R-plane and peck. The drilling feed is the common Feed rate from Program setup.
The generated code lands in the Your program card, and it is yours to edit — 💾 Save changes makes the edited text the one that downloads, copies and opens in the simulator. Download .nc saves the file; Copy puts it on your clipboard.
▶ Open in simulator loads the program into the simulator and waits — CYCLE START glows green and nothing runs until you press it. Always watch a new program run there before it ever touches a machine.
Pick an operation, punch in the numbers, get a clean program — then verify it in your simulator before it ever touches a machine.
Reads the dimension text out of the print and fills the form below. Scanned-image PDFs have no text to read.
Reads the overall size and hole patterns out of a 2D CAD drawing (bolt circles especially), sketches the top view, and fills the form below. ASCII DXF — if your file is binary, export it as ASCII first.
